Rail

We have carried out a number of Rail related schemes both directly for Network Rail, for Area Framework Contractors such as Birse Rail and for Light Rail projects. The company is fully Link-up accredited for a range of product groups (listed below) and holds a Principal Contractors Licence (formerly Contractors Assurance Case). Schemes carried out include:

• Embankment Stabilisation involving a range of techniques including; soil nailing, placement of geotextiles and geogrids, nailed gabions, toe drainage, stone fill to improve toe stability, grouting of rabbit burrows.
  
• Drainage & Infrastructure to main rail freight centres including Crewe & Bescot. Work has involved accesses and hardstandings in concrete and tarmac, refuelling areas, foul and storm drainage, interceptors, culverted watercourses, earthworks and environmental mitigation works such as creation of linked pond habitats for translocated freshwater crayfish.
  
• Geotechnical Work including; site investigations, mine workings stabilisation under bridge abutments, embankments and main rail lines, bridge tying, cintec anchors and rotary cased piles.
